"Independence from School Classroom Hunger" On 74th Independence Day of India I wanted take a step to work toward the cause to eradicate classroom hunger. This is possible with the World biggest NGO “The Akshaya Patra Foundation” who are serving Nutritious hot lunch to 18 L + children so can take proper education. Current Scenario – The Impact of Covid-19 As India continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the country through stringent lockdowns and curfews, the economic impact has been devastating on our vulnerable communities, exacerbated by schools being shut and directly impacting children around the country who depended on the Mid-Day Meal they received every day. 1. Risk of falling deeper into poverty during the crisis - This will reduce the number of children going to school and more children joining the workforce as unskilled labour. 2. In the case of girls student, it is estimated that nearly 10 million secondary school girls in India could drop out due to the pandemic, putting them at risk of early marriage, early pregnancy, poverty, and violence. 3. India is among the 10 countries with potentially the highest number of additional child deaths… I, Devyansh Singh, aged 16 years studying in 11 grade from Cambridge School, Indirapuram, taken initiative to support underprivileged children whose Govt. school study is disturbed because of the school closure since 10th March 2020. I am running a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to transform the lives of these students by providing mid-day meals/Happiness Boxes to them. These students study at govt. schools in Vrindavan, Agra & Mathura. This will serve as an incentive for children to get proper education, eliminates malnutrition and helps them get better education.
