Campaign Overview

Dear Friends, I bring to your attention, a mission that is close to my heart - the drive to eradicate classroom hunger, and get children back to school. Did you know that India has the dubious distinction of being one of the Top Five nations with the highest number of out-of-school children aged 6-11 years*? Often children don't go to school because they are suffering from hunger and malnutrition. This is where the Akshaya Patra Mid-Day Meal Programme comes in. The Foundation feeds over 1.8 million children a day! Often this is the child's first full meal, and occasionally, the only meal they get in the day - inspiring them to come to school...and stay enrolled. I would be grateful if you could join me in becoming a ‘Hunger Warrior’, and help more children benefit from a full meal and an education.
